Stars Appeal fund state-of-the-art equipment for operating theatres

Thanks to an incredible £420,000 in donations, fundraising and legacy gifts, we’ve equipped not one but four of the Hospital’s operating theatres with state-of-the-art equipment enabling the Hospital to carry out more minimally invasive surgery.

The new equipment enables the Hospital to treat around 1,000 extra patients using laparoscopic (keyhole) and endoscopic techniques rather than open surgery.

This helps reduce the risk of complications and speeds up recovery times after surgery meaning patients spend less time in hospital.

And quicker operations are freeing up space across the Hospital’s 16 operating theatres, cutting waiting times for patients.
