Each Christmas the Stars Appeal ensures that every patient in hospital on Christmas Day receives a gift. For some patients this may be the only gift they get.
We also provide Christmas extras for staff working over the festive period and help make the hospital site as bright and festive as possible to bring cheer to both patients, their loved ones, and the NHS staff who care for them.
How the Stars Appeal makes a difference:
- Brightening the day of over 400 people in hospital on Christmas Day by providing them with a special gift
- Bringing a festive feel to the Hospital site by funding Christmas trees and decorations
- An additional programme of live music and entertainment to fill the Hospital with Christmas songs and bring some Yuletide cheer to patients, visitors and staff
- Distributing hampers to hardworking NHS staff
- Providing 3,000 Christmas meals for Hospital staff and volunteers
- Funding free Wi-Fi across the Hospital so patients can stay in touch with their families and friends over Christmas
- Supporting the Chaplaincy team to provide Christmas services and help to patients, their loved ones and staff over the festive period
