Dear Stars Appeal supporters, volunteers and friends,
We are thinking of you all during this challenging time and are so grateful for your continued support of the Stars Appeal and our wonderful hospital.
Like you, we are making changes to our day-to-day activities to help keep everyone safe. So this week we have taken the following actions:
- Closed the Stars Appeal bookshop in the Main Reception until further notice
- Suspended our bucket collections in the Hospital and at local shops
- Asked people to get in touch by telephone or email rather than visiting the Stars Appeal office.
We’re also reviewing our events, including Walk for Wards on Sunday 5 July. Right now, we hope everything will go ahead and we will let everyone know in good time if that changes. We suggest supporters planning their own events review them in line with the latest government guidelines (here: gov.uk/coronavirus-covid-19), and, if necessary, consider rescheduling them or moving them online.
The projects we fund are continuing to help patients and staff here at Salisbury District Hospital. The free Wi-Fi we provide for all patients is keeping them connected particularity whilst visiting is restricted. Stars Appeal funded therapy and counselling are supporting hardworking staff, and all our projects are continuing as normally as they can wherever possible, from our recreational service for spinal patients to accommodation for the parents of special care babies.
Please do keep in touch or let us know if you have any questions. You can call us on 01722 429005 or email info@starsappeal.org. And we’ll be posting updates on our website at starsappeal.org and our Facebook page facebook.com/starsappeal.salisburyhospital
If you’d like to show your support for the work of Salisbury District Hospital during the current crisis you can donate here: starsappeal.org/donate. Your support will help us continue enhancing care for local people and supporting staff in our Hospital.
Thank you for your support. We wish you and your loved ones good health.
The Stars Appeal Team
