Croatia Mountain Trek 2026

Are you ready to summit three peaks in support of the Stars Appeal?

The Istria Peninsula in northern Croatia is relatively unknown, a hidden gem which feels a world away from the well-touristed Adriatic coast to the south. With spectacular, diverse scenery of lush green forested hills and limestone mountain peaks, vineyards and olive groves, meandering rivers, untouched stone villages and medieval hilltop towns, the region offers rich rewards for those who like to trek away from the crowds.

Join fellow trekkers to follow the Istria Mountain Trail across the peninsula, from the wooded hills around Buzet east into Učka National Park, where you’ll crest three mountain peaks, culminating in fabulous views over the entire region from the rocky summit of Mount Učka.

NOTE: This is an OPEN challenge run by our travel partners Discover Adventure. We invite you to join this trek to raise funds for the Stars Appeal. You’ll be trekking with people from across the UK, raising funds for many different charities.

What’s your commitment?

You’ll need to be FIT, WELL-EQUIPPED and ready to FUNDRAISE

• You’ll be hiking 6-10 hours a day over 3 days, on rough, uneven terrain, with many hills. Hill training and experience of outdoor walking are essential as you prepare. We’ll send you Discover Adventure’s recommended training plan when you sign up.
• You’ll need to be ready for any sort of weather, with layers of clothing and waterproofs as well as well-worn in walking boots with ankle support. You may find walking poles useful – use them while you train.
• You must pay for all your trip costs – £199 on sign up, plus £1,275 8 weeks before departure making a total of £1474. We ask you to raise at least £1,400 for the Stars Appeal – we hope you will raise much more.
