More than a Mountain – Charity Screening
Wednesday 8th April
Join the Stars Appeal for a Charity Screening of this inspirational film, plus Q+A with Jo Bradshaw and a chance to find out more about the charity’s work at Salisbury Hospital. Tickets are only £8, refreshments will be available to purchase and there will be a raffle.
‘More Than a Mountain’ follows fifteen women on a heartfelt expedition to Nepal’s Yala Peak, climbing in honour of Junko Tabei, the first woman to summit Everest. Led by expedition leader Jo Bradshaw, the team’s ages range from 29 to 71, including total beginners, seasoned mountaineers, and three women from Salisbury who started out as Stars Appeal trekkers.
What unfolds is a moving story of courage, community, and self-belief as the women push past fear, support one another, and celebrate a legacy long overlooked. A tender and inspiring tribute to the power of women, mountains, and the stories that deserve to be told.

“Everyone was super friendly and supportive and the trek was one of my best experiences I have had“
– China Trekker for the Stars Appeal
“I definitely feel I earned every penny of my fundraising and I was so happy to do it.”
– Petra Trekker for the Stars Appeal
“The trek family is the best! The diversity of backgrounds, ages, abilities and reasons for trekking is what makes these challenges so amazing. People getting on, not getting on, getting stressed, tired and emotional, chatty, quiet, enthusiastic, broken but all facing in the same direction – what’s not to love!”
– Lost City Trekker for the Stars Appeal
