Our President - The Earl of Pembroke

A Message from our President

Salisbury Hospital is a vital part of our community. I know first hand, literally from birth, about the importance of its work. I was born six weeks prematurely and cared for on the Neonatal Unit. And, just like many of you reading these words now, the hospital has always provided outstanding care for my family.

The Stars Appeal is the charity that strives to make our hospital the best it can possibly be. That is why I am proud to be its President. Thanks to the support of people like you, we fund many life-changing projects throughout the hospital.

Now we need your support more than ever so we can continue our vital work. You can help by making a donation, fundraising on our behalf, and benefiting future generations by remembering us in your Will. Together we can continue to help our Hospital provide the very best care for us all.

How we are governed

Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is the corporate trustee of the charity. The Charitable Funds Committee, acting on behalf of the Trust, is responsible for the overall management of the charity and comprises five Trust Board members: two Executive Directors and three Non-Executive Directors, one of whom serves as the Chair.

The Committee is supported by two independent members, Louise Hall and Krishna Thakur, who represent the views of patients, families, and donors. The Chair of the Fundraising Committee and four Clinical Ambassadors are also invited to attend meetings, bringing wider clinical, community, and supporter perspectives to discussions.
