Now note this Essential Information about our Desert Challenge
Dates: Saturday 5th February to Sunday 13th February, 2028
Health: For your own safety, and the safety of fellow trekkers, Discover Adventure require every trekker to complete a medical form at or soon after registration (that’s in addition to the simple questions when you sign up). You must be at least 18 years old to join this trek.
Fundraising: All trekkers pledge to fundraise or make a personal donation of at least £2,000 for the Stars Appeal and pay their own trek costs. There is no option to fundraise for trek costs. You can see what we’re fundraising for here.
Trek costs: £1,699 payable to Discover Adventure, including £399 non-returnable registration fee payable at sign-up to secure your place and the balance of £1300 due by 27 November 2027. You should also budget £300-400 for insurance (more if you are over 65), visas, crew tips and trekking kit.
Training and Fitness: We choose treks that are challenging – this one has long days’ trekking, desert terrain, warm days and cold nights, camping, and unfamiliar food and culture. Good fitness is vital, and that’s something most people can achieve if they train well in advance using the Training Plan supplied.
