Are you ready to take to the saddle in support of the Stars Appeal?
Join fellow cyclists on an unforgettable journey that takes you from the home of the Stars Appeal, Salisbury Hospital, to the picturesque city of Paris, with the iconic finish line of the Eiffel Tower!
Cycling over 250 miles, across 4 days, you will pass through the rolling hills of the English countryside, onto small villages and medieval market towns of Northern France before arriving in the hustle and bustle of Paris. With long days in the saddle and some strenuous hill-climbs, the sight of the Eiffel Tower, our finishing point, will evoke a real sense of achievement.
Salisbury to Paris: Day-by-Day
Day 1: We set off from Salisbury Hospital, home of the Stars Appeal. After a visit to Salisbury Cathedral for some souvenir photos, we head through the (mainly) gentle Wiltshire and Hampshire countryside to Portsmouth for our overnight ferry to Caen. Cycle approx. 96km (60 miles)
Day 2: Commemorating Salisbury Hospital’s long connection with the armed forces and the foundation of Odstock Hospital during World War Two today’s route takes us to beaches, bridges, villages and a cathedral with links to the Normandy Landings and D Day. Cycle approx. 121km (75 miles)
Day 3: A day of rural loveliness mixed with history as we pass through hamlets and villages in rolling farmland and wooded valleys on a long day’s ride. Cycle approx. 110km (69 miles)
Day 4: We ride from villages to small towns, then into the suburbs of Paris as we approach the finish line. As we cycle into Paris, we’ll see Sacre Couer and the Eiffel Tower on the skyline, then pass the Arc de Triomphe, as we approach our finish point, under the arches of the Eiffel Tower. That night we’ll have a well-earned celebration. Cycle approx. 95km (60 miles)
Day 5: Return to Salisbury via Calais and London (bikes travel separately)
